CBS, as part of an ongoing exploration of distribution outlets for its television series, will stream episodes of Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother on Yahoo from December 27 through January 2, Mediaweek reports. The shows will be streamed for free and without commercials.
This is the first time that CBS has streamed episodes of its shows online, but earlier this year, sister network UPN streamed the pilot of Everybody Hates Chris on Google. Yahoo also streamed the debut of Supernatural from WB, and the premiere of the Showtime show Fat Actress, Mediapost writes.
In recent months, TV networks have been teaming up with web companies to stream shows and have experimented with streaming shows on their own sites, as well. MSNBC.com, for example, has recently begun streaming NBC news shows on its sites, while CBS has made three episodes of Threshold available on CBS.com.
