Ana Marie Cox, editor of the “spicy” Wonkette blog, is stepping down, handing the reins over to David Lat, an assistant U.S. Attorney who was revealed to be the author of the Underneath Their Robes judicial blog in November, the Wall Street Journal writes. Wonkette rose to fame along with other blogs such as Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo since reporting on the 2004 presidential campaign. Cox’s first book is being published this week, and she is heading out on a national book tour.
Lat’s blog, which was shut down after his identity was revealed in the New Yorker but is now back up, gained recognition for its coverage of the recent Supreme Court nominations. Lat writes the blog as Article III Groupie (or A3G), a woman who describers herself as a “bitch” and “federal judicial starf**ker.”
