Boston Triathlon: Desperately Seeking Sponsor

sponsorship

The Boston Triathlon, formerly known as the Monster Challenge, needs a title sponsor for its 6th annual event in order to remain viable, the event’s organizer, DMSE Inc., has announced. The event, held Labor Day weekend in Boston’s waterfront district and throughout the city’s historic streets, attracts nearly 1,000 athletes annually, including elite athletes Simon Lessing, Victor Plata, Barb Lindquist, and Karen Smyers who compete at the Olympic Distance.

Without a title sponsor, however, organizers will be forced to cancel the 2006 event.

Boston’s World Trade Center serves as the event start and finish. The space and location offer a title sponsor visibility during race weekend, in addition to pre-race marketing/advertising and pr opportunities. In addition to news articles, billboards, and radio ads, the triathlon has been filmed and aired on OLN. Race weekend includes a Sports Expo, open to the public, and on Race Day vendors/sponsors are located on the Fish Pier, next door to the WTC where a “party atmosphere” exists during and after the race.
