Microsoft Launches $500 Million Campaign

Microsoft has launched its $500 million campaign for its new People Ready business vision, which positions the brand as delivering tools and technology to help empower people, with eight-page color inserts in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, Brandweek reports. Two-page spreads for the new campaign will follow.


Broadcast ads premiere with a 60-second TV spot airing next Thursday during the NCAA tournament. McCann Worldgroup in San Francisco who heads up the Microsoft account is also working with Dish and TiVo on special ad inserts to tout the new vision. Five other TV executions will follow.

Print ads will appear in April magazines and out-of-home will spread the word in U.S. airports. Online executions will appear on news sites like CNN and blog-related efforts as well as streaming video to mobile devices are on the way.
