Branded Samples: Newest Form of Salon Ads

Ambient Planet is giving advertisers who target women a new way to reach their target market by offering nail salon clients branded samples that include emery boards sporting four-color ads, writes Media Life.

Emery board giveaways are the latest element in beauty salon advertising, since its launch three years ago, according to sales manager Linda Bueno. The branded emery boards usually accompany a poster program.

Salon advertising is used as an element of mixed media campaigns and allows marketers to target specific groups around seasons or events like weddings or proms. Other forms of salon advertising include branded aprons for technicians and clients, t-shirts, manicure mats, nail decals, and free samples.

BBC America will distribute 250,000 branded emery boards to over 5,000 salons this month as part of its campaign for its program Footballers Wive$.
