Air America Radio announced Wednesday that Danny Goldberg is the network’s new vice chairman, Radio Ink writes.
“The appointment of Danny Goldberg to this new role reflects Air America’s desire to strengthen its outreach efforts to the progressive community and several key strategic alliances,” said Rob Glaser, Chairman of the Board of Piquant, Ltd. - the holding company that owns Air America Radio. “These are areas where Danny brings unique skills and experience.”
“I have been, and will continue to be, primarily interested in the development of content and in its marketing, that is where my passions ran in the music business and where they run in other media including Air America,” said Goldberg. “This new position allows me to focus on the areas of most interest while allowing someone else to grow the business and build on our already established success.”
Air America has struggled in some markets and, recently, had to quiet rumors that the company had lost its N.Y.C. flagship, WLIB/New York, and was facing financial challenges.
