Improved Signal Coverage Helps L.A. Stations Get Steve Harvey to Return

The “Steve Harvey Morning Show” returns to Los Angeles radio starting May 30 on KDAY/KDIA Los Angeles, which belong to the privately owned Magic Broadcasting/Styles Partners, run by CEO Don McCoy, writes Radio Ink. A recent upgrade of the stations’ signal coverage allows both stations to conduct business on 93.5 as part of the company’s so-called “syncrocast.”

Radio veteran and former KIIS-FM GM and Clear Channel Market Manager who also collaborates on the stations’ activities, Roy Laughlin, said, “This 70 percent signal improvement for the newly syncrocast 93.5 KDAY and 93.5 KDAI has been in the works for over a year but was only completed a week ago. The signal improvements are dramatic and exponentially improve this radio signal in the #1 radio market in the world. The substantial investment by the new ownership group in the signals was a key part in attracting a veteran programmer in Steve Hegwood and the superstar on-air talent Steve Harvey to the station for mornings.”

Premiere Radio Networks launched the Steve Harvey show into national syndication, in October of last year. Currently, the show airs in 25 markets, including Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, New York, Washington and Philadelphia.
