‘Baseball Youth’ Magazine Launched by Dugout Media

Dugout Media, Inc. has announced a new publication for kids interested in baseball: Baseball Youth, The Nation’s Baseball Magazine for Kids. The magazine will include features on major leaguers’ younger days along with how-to articles to help kids improve their games. It also includes educational puzzles, trivia, and video game features.

Fox Announces Stable, Strong Lineup

As the top network among adults 18-49, Fox has released its new prime-time lineups for fall 2006 and January 2007, which will focus on strength and stability and will include five new shows this fall as well as the return of veteran hit shows like American Idol and 24 in January, MediaWeek writes.

Bollore Seeks Two Seats on Aegis Board

Vincent Bollore has put two candidates forward for next week’s board elections at Aegis’s AGM, writes Brand Republic. Bollore, who is also chairman of French rival Havas, recently raised his stake in Aegis to 27.56 percent, which puts him close to being able to mount a formal takeover, according to Mediapost.

CBS Unveils Four New Shows at Upfront

CBS had only four big shows to unveil at its upfront presentation yesterday because it has fewer holes to fill, writes AdAge. CBS News was represented by the Evening News anchor Bob Schieffer, who appeard on stage to talk about a “new era” in the news division. Katie Couric, who will join CBS Evening News in the fall, also took the stage to talk about how thrilled she is to be joining the evening news as well as 60 Minutes which will, according to AdAge, “look a whole lot younger come fall.”

Eyeblaster Launches Online Video Advertising Tool

Rich media ad firm Eyeblaster today announced the launch of its Video Studio advertising solution, which it says can bring full-screen video online faster and with higher quality than others, MarketingVOX reports. The tool auto-encodes digitized files into multiple video formats - and also tracks relevant user interactions and provides reporting. Eyeblaster claims to be serving the most video advertising online of any other company in its space, with more than 4,000 ads executed in the first quarter.

Auto Spot TV Down

Auto ad spending on spot TV was off 0.6 percent year-over-year, as the Big Three’s cumulative spend decreased by 4.5 percent, Brandweek reports.
