Dallas, Texas, is getting its own “Times Square,” as construction begins on the city’s Victory Plaza, to be located in the heart of the city and bordered by two five-story buildings housing high-end retail shops on the ground floor, reports Austin, Texas ABC affiliate, KVUE.
The new plaza will also serve as an outdoor media venue complete with eleven giant high-def screens, eight of which will move side-to-side playing movie trailers, newscasts, NBA games, and more.
“I think this is pretty unique. I’ve been in most major cities in the country, and I’ve never seen anything quite like this,” said Ron Rentfrow, project manager of Victory Park - which encompasses 12 million square feet of development, including 4,000 residences.
