Cox Target Media, provider of the Valpak products, has signed a deal to use trackmymail.com to provide tracking services for all Valpak mailings beginning in July.
Cox mails more than 525 million of their blue Valpak envelopes to over 45 million unique addresses throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada. According to Cox, knowing when that mail gets delivered, and that it gets delivered on time is critical to the success of the advertising.
Trackmymail.com uses USPS’s PLANET code to track mail as it moves through automated sorting equipment at the Postal Service. The PLANET code is a special barcode that is printed on the mail piece. Using that identifying code, trackmymail.com can follow mail across the country.
“Using trackmymail.com gives us a measure of monitoring our mail delivery that wasn’t previously available,” said Joy Franckowiak, Manager, Distribution & Postal Affairs, of Cox Target Media. “We’ve already been able to get more consistent delivery using trackmymail.com on a portion of our mail. We expect to be able to improve overall delivery now that we’ve rolled it out to all of our Valpak mailings.”
