Fox Television Stations and Twentieth Television will launch a new, live, national morning program, scheduled to begin airing in January 2007. The new show will originate from New York and will air on all the owned-and-operated Fox affiliates.
Hosted by Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy of FOX News Channel’s “DaySide,” the show will be live from 9-10 a.m., in most markets, and feature entertainment and general interest programming. Both anchors will continue their “DaySide” duties until Fall 2006.
The new show is designed to extend morning programming on Fox stations, which have had strong ratings success counter-programming the big three network morning shows with their with their own local morning Good Day programs 7 to 9 a.m, Mediaweek reports. Among Adults 25-54, Good Day on local Fox O & Os is the No. 1 program at 7 to 9 a.m. in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, Cleveland and Kansas City.
Nationally, the new Fox show will compete with NBC’s extended Today show and Regis and Kelly on ABC.
