Consumers Union, which publishes Consumer Reports, is introducing ShopSmart, a shopping magazine intended for women over 30, on Aug. 1.
The magazine, ShopSmart, will be published quarterly and will have an initial newsstand-only circulation of 800,000, The New York Times reports. It will not accept ads or free test samples of products, in accordance with Consumers Union rules.
ShopSmart will compete with successful women’s shopping magazines like Lucky from Condé Nast, which has a paid circulation of over one million. It will offer a cleaner, more edited sampling of products across several areas, and include home, food and shopping tips.
