VNU, which publishes Billboard and the Hollywood Reporter via VNU Business Media, has received approval from shareholders to become a private company, BtoB reports.
VNU, which also owns ACNielsen, was acquired by a consortium of private equity firms in June. Speculation in media circles questions whether VNU plans to sell any of its assets, such as the media measurement firm.
Earlier this month, VNU acquired Radio & Records and will fold Billboard Radio Monitor into that publication.
