Arbitron Releases Radio Network Ratings

Arbitron has released its September 2006 RADAR radio network audience reports covering the period of June 30, 2005 - June 21, 2006.


ABC Daytime Direction Network continued its hold on the top spot. ABC Prime Access Radio Network was pushed from second to fourth, with Jones MediaAmerica TWC Radio Network and Dial Global Complete FM Network grabing the second and third spot, respectively. ABC Morning News Radio Network, Westwood CBS News Primetime Network, Dial Global Contemporary Network, Premiere Emerald Plus Network, Premiere Mediabase Network, and Premiere Morning Drive AM Network filled out the top ten.

The sample size has been increased to 112,519 diarykeepers, up from 106,299 in the last report. In addition, the Market-by-Market Analysis report now includes the Top 50 DMAs.

During the survey period, 75 percent of U.S. consumers ages 12+ heard one or more network radio commercials in the course of a week. Among the prime audience demographics sought by advertisers, the commercials aired on the 56 radio networks reached 75 percent of Adults 18+, 74 percent of Adults 35+, 77 percent of Adults 18-49, and 77 percent of Adults 25-54.
