Alloy Media + Marketing is debuting a college newspaper measurement prototype via MRI that will allow the advertising industry to evaluate the impact of its college newspaper network against other print vehicles, the company has announced.
Alloy Media + Marketing operates the largest national advertising network in cooperation with over 1800 college newspapers, reaching 11.4 million college students, according to the company.
Spring 2006 data available through the MRI prototype, which provides figures on readership of the college newspaper for students ages 18-24, shows that college newspapers rank #1, by a large margin, against other nationally recognized print vehicles.
The Alloy data shows that the top publication(s) for college students of that age group are newspapers in the Alloy College Newspaper Network, with 3.3 million readers. People magazine follows, with 2.6 million readers. Next come Cosmopolitan (2.3 million), Maxim (2.1 million), Sports Illustrated (1.9 million), ESPN The Magazine and Glamour (1.5 million), National Geographic (1.4 million), and Rolling Stone and US Weekly (each with 1.3 million).
Data by gender is also available.
