Catalogers and list companies look to be increasing catalog circulations for the holidays.
Companies such as Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue plans to mail about 40 percent more catalogs this coming season, while Vermont Teddy Bear Co. will jump total circulation by almost 30 percent, reports Multichannel Merchant. The Guild, a Madison, Wisconsin-based gift, decor and jewelry catalog will double circulation this season.
Stephen Lett, of consultancy Lett Direct, says he is seeing increases of 10-15 percent across the board for most of his clients. He says the reason the numbers are increasing is that mailers are getting good response rates and their profits are “falling in line,” which makes them able to take small risks with circulations.
Some mailers, he adds, may be increasing circulation now, before postal increases hit.
