Cingular Files Suit against Three Telemarketers

Cingular Wireless has filed suit in a federal court against three companies yesterday to stop telemarketers from making unsolicited and illegal calls to Cingular customers.

In the first lawsuit, Cingular says that Sebell Telecommunications made unsolicited marketing calls to Cingular subscribers using an automatic dialing system and a prerecorded message, writes CNET News. In the second and third suits, the carrier alleges that American Broadcast Systems and Go2Prepaid also made unsolicited prerecorded calls.

In recent months, telecommunications providers have filed multiple lawsuits against companies which they believe are infringing on their customers’ privacy, according to the article.
