College Stadium Ads Reach Television Audience

Advertisers are increasingly reaching out to the desirable college market, and college stadiums have developed as a hot medium for marketers.

One company offering large-scale signage in college football stadiums is Van Wagner Sports Group, headquartered in New York. One example of the company’s programs is the Field Goal Net Program, which was developed specifically for Allstate, according to Media Life. The Allstate logo appears in the center of the field goal nets in 55 college stadiums.

Allstate’s stadium program is part of an overall media mix, with the company using images of its branded field goal net in print and TV ads.

Because the ads are geared toward the wider TV audience - rather than just the fans in the stands - the creative should be simple, bold and clear, the company recommends.

Van Wagner works with 55 college football teams across the country.
