Anita Drobny and Sheldon Drobny, co-founders of Air America Radio, have partnered with Dr. Mike Newcomb, to form a new liberal talk radio network, Nova M Radio.
Air America Radio has filed for bankruptcy, it was reported earlier this week.
Newcomb, CEO and chairman of Nova M Radio, will host a show on the new network, to launch on KPHX Phoenix, writes Radio Ink.
In a letter to listeners on the Nova M Radio website, Newcomb writes, “Myself along with my partners, Anita and Sheldon Drobny, the original cofounders of the Air America Radio Network, want to be the first to tell all you ‘truth seekers’ that the original truth seeker himself Mike Malloy will be born again live on the public airwaves. The planned second coming (barring any apocalypse) is scheduled for October 30, 2006.”
Besides former Air America host Malloy, Peter B. Collins and pollster John Zogby will also have shows on Nova M Radio.
The Mike Malloy Show, launching Oct. 30, will be broadcast live from 9 p.m. to midnight, EST. It will also be made available to affiliates, and will stream live on www.novamradio.com.
Malloy was let go by Air America in August. “Yikes! That was close. To not be on the air during perhaps the most critical election in modern U.S. history would have been a real bummer. But, we’re back,” he said in a statement.
