Chevrolet has hired 2 college students from eight different universities to drive around in an Aveo for one week, in order to target the difficult-to-reach but highly sought 18- 25-year-old demo.
The 16 students will be filmed throughout, and must keep a blog of their experiences, writes The Auto Channel. As participants in Chevrolet’s “Livin’ Large!” campaign, one of the groups will be chosen - through an online vote - to win the compact car.
The auto company has said that word-of-mouth campaigns like this, rather than newspaper or radio ads - are more effective in reaching a younger audience.
