InfoUSA has acquired Rubin Response Services Inc., a list brokerage and management firm, and will fold it into its own Walter Karl Group.
President Judith Rubin-Zivic will remain with the company through mid-2007 as a consultant to assist with the transition, according to Direct Magazine. Eventually, Rubin Response will be completely absorbed by Walter Karl, and will cease to have an independent brand identity.
The acquisition of Rubin Response will give infoUSA a larger presence in the Midwest market, according to infoUSA chairman and CEO Vin Gupta. He also said that the acquisition of Rubin Response will help infoUSA in its “strategy to consolidate the fragmented list brokerage and management industry.
InfoUSA has also recently acquired: Digital Connexxions, for which it paid $4 million in October; Millard Group, for which it paid $12.4 million at the initial sale last November and additional consideration of $1.5 million in April; and Mokrynskidirect, for which it paid $6.6 million in June 2006 and additional $1.9 million in August.
The company has made more than 25 acquisitions in the list/data/database and marketing delivery system fields in the last 10 years, according to the article.
