Sirius Snags Content from NY’s ‘92nd Street Y’

Continuing to ink important partnerships in order to compete with XM, Sirius Satellite Radio has announced another new show, this one to be based on interviews from New York’s famed 92nd Street Y.

The new exclusive weekly radio show will feature the newsmakers, stars, authors, politicians and celebrities who are speaking at the 92nd Street Y, as well as archives of those who have spoken there since 1949, the company announced today.
New York’s 92nd Street Y has a 132-year legacy of bringing celebrities to its stage. The roster of names includes politicians and celebrities such as Bill Clinton, Katie Couric, Gloria Steinem, John Travolta, Joy Behar, Paul McCartney, Henry Kissinger, Jay Leno, Andrea Mitchell, Salman Rushdie, John Updike, Maureen Dowd, Garrison Keillor, Anne Rice, Tiki Barber, Annette Bening, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Elie Wiesel, Alan Alda, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and thousands of others.

The show, “From New York’s 92nd Street Y,” will launch in early 2007 on Sirius Stars channel 102.
