AARP Readership Leaps Again

AARP The Magazine’s readership increased 7 percent reaching 29.9 million adults – or 14 percent of all adults in the U.S. – according to the recently released Fall 2006 MRI report.

The magazine is up 3.4 percent in household income to $53,453 and home value rose 13 percent to $277,038. The 50-59 age-segmented edition, which reaches over 12.5 million readers, has a household income of $70,106.

AARP The Magazine maintained its number-one position (87 percent) for the third year in a row for Read In Home, considered by many buyers as the metric that generates the most effective response for advertisements. It ranked number two for Loyal Readers, reading 4 out of 4 issues, among all 200 magazines measured.

The magazine is up 15 percent in ad pages from January to September of 2006 vs. the same period last year, according to the most recently released data from the Publishers Information Bureau.
