ING Direct, the nation’s largest direct bank, provided free gasoline to Atlanta commuters during morning rush hour today (Thursday). Drivers who visit three Shell stations between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. will receive a free gasoline fill-up as part of ING Direct’s campaign “to lead Americans back to savings.”The Pump ‘n Save event took place at three locations in the metro Atlanta area, according to the company.
In addition to free gas, ING Direct “Orange Ambassadors” pumped the gas, washed windshields and distributed information on ING’s Orange Savings Account, which pays nearly eight times the national average of traditional accounts, the company claims.
From December 18- 20, information about the promotion was been distributed at several Shell locations. ING Direct also offered its current customers a special gas coupon worth $10 to be used at 10 Shell stations.
ING Direct’s launch in the Atlanta area kicked off in early November with television commercials, billboards, Internet, direct mail, radio and print media advertisements.
