Trump’s ‘Apprentice’ Gets Sneak Peek Online

In what has become a relatively ordinary move, if not common practice, NBC will air the premiere episode of The Apprentice online, before it airs on network TV on Sunday.

The first 20 minutes of the show will stream on both NBC.com and on Yahoo, writes MediaPost. NBC aired the premiere episodes of scripted shows such as Friday Night Lights and 30 Rock in their entirety online, but has chosen to only stream the first 20 minutes of its reality shows, such as The Biggest Loser and The Apprentice.

The Apprentice needs to generate strong ratings in order to remain viable, according to the article. With a precipitous drop in ratings in recent seasons, the network chose to give the show a hiatus during the fall and bring it back in the spring season. It has also moved the setting of the show from New York to Los Angeles.
