Despite being chosen as the worst Super Bowl ad in a USA Today national poll, Salesgenie.com apparently pulled in a huge amount of registrations following the airing of its 30-second spot.
Database services provider infoUSA, owner of Salesgenie.com, claims the ad generated more than 10,000 registrations from potential new customers, writes DM News. The company is considering the prospect of doing a spot again next year.
The success of the spot in terms of generating leads is perhaps a testament to the fact that what is “successful” in the eyes of consumers is not necessarily the same for marketers.
The spot (which can be seen here) showed the success of a salesperson as a result of using Salesgenie.com. The ad was not meant to be funny or entertaining, but simply to bring in at least 700 subscribers.
