Experian Consumer Direct will pay $300,000 to settle FTC charges that ads for Consumerinfo.com’s so-called free credit report failed to adequately explain that those who signed up for the report would automatically be enrolled in a credit-monitoring program that cost $79.95, writes Direct Magazine.
