Air America’s new president, Mark Green, has stepped forward to outline how his family plans to make the struggling left-leaning radio network a success.
The twin goals, he writes in his Huffington Post blog, are to make it profitable and influential. In order to do that, management will focus on making an already strong lineup even stronger, by connecting to other major progressive organizations to be mutually fortifying, and by becoming a multi-media content company.
It will be a business with a sharp point of view, Green writes. “The era of on-the-one-hand-on-the-other-hand liberalism is over…. If the conservative media continue to spout propaganda and call it news, we are the alternative of truth, justice and the Air American way.”
Content will focus on two views specifically: “First, America should stop attacking Muslim countries in ways that multiply terrorism. Second, instead of only talking about exporting democracy, Washington should begin practicing it here at home, for example by making sure elections aren’t auctions, which means the public funding of public elections.”
