Security bin advertising has gotten a boost with the announcement of an alliance between JCDecaux North America and SecurityPoint Media LLC.
The partnership will see the two companies jointly marketing the SecureTray System, which is touted as being not only a way for advertisers to reach travelers on the go, but as a way to reduce waiting time at security checkpoints in participating airports.
The SecureTray System is an integrated, three-part system that includes advertisements placed on the bins where passengers place their personal belongings for x-ray screening at airport security checkpoints. It also includes SecureCarts and stainless steel Divesting Tables.
The system is currently in use at four airports, including Los Angeles International (LAX) where it has been reported to reduce passenger wait times by more than 15 percent, thanks to “improved checkpoint appearance” and process efficiencies, according to the release.
SecurityPoint Media holds a U.S. patent on the SecureTray System, according to Mediaweek.
