Two CBS Radio Hosts Suspended for Racial Slurs

Two CBS Radio hosts have been suspended from an FM station in New York City after airing a prank phone call to a Chinese restaurant that was reportedly filled with ethnic and racial slurs.
The call was played on The Dog House with JV and Elvis on WFNY on April 5, the day after Don Imus made his inappropriate comment about the women’s Rutgers basketball team on CBS-owned WFAN, writes The New York Times. The call was replayed again last week, a week after Imus lost his job for his comments.

The four New York-area chapters of the Organization of Chinese Americans advocacy groups called for an apology from the show’s hosts and from CBS Radio, and for the firing of the hosts and the show’s producer.

A CBS Radio spokeswoman said that the two hosts have been suspended without pay until further notice.
