CBS News Announced Pres. Campaign Coverage

CBS News has announced its plans for covering the 2008 presidential campaigns, with extensive TV, web and radio coverage.

Katie Couric - who in this week’s issue of New York magazine says that, if her gig at CBS News turns out not to be a perfect fit, “then, you know, I’ll do something else that’s really exciting and fulfilling for me,” - will continue to anchor CBS Evening News during the campaigns, writes Broadcasting & Cable. She will also moderate, on Dec. 10th, the last of the DNC-sanctioned debates before Democratic voters cast their ballots in the primary elections.

CBSNews.com will launch a special section devoted to the campaign, with features such as blogs from journalists on the campaign trail and a daily video feature. There will also be communications tools that will allow viewers to participate in the dialogue and debate.
Leading much of the CBS News coverage will be CBS News Washington bureau chief and Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer and senior political correspondent Jeff Greenfield.
