Aegis Creates CIO Role, Recommits to Digital Future

Aegis Group - now the world’s largest digital media services organization, according to a recent report by RECMA - has created a new chief information officer role in order to develop a new digital infrastructure across all of its various media agency networks.

David Bulman, previously director of digital technology and operations at News Corp.’s News International, will take on the role, writes MediaPost.

As the advertising marketplace becomes increasingly digital-based, Aegis plans to continue to migrate the business towards technology-rich services, according to Aegis Media chief executive Mainardo de Nardis.

A report from Carat suggests that by 2020, 80 percent of all media will be digital. Currently, 50 percent is delivered via digital technologies. Aegis accounts for 28 percent of all digital media personnel across its six agency holding companies (Aegis, WPP, Interpublic, Omnicom, Publicis, and Havas).
Digital is defined not just by new media channels such as the internet and wireless, according to the report, which points out that radio, TV and outdoor digital opportunities are all available.
