The reverse auction run by Bid4Spots experienced a 300 percent increase in activity in June, and its roster now includes nearly 1,800 advertisers and agencies combined, according to the company.
Bid4Spots makes available to advertisers prime, last-minute inventory from roughly 2,400 participating radio stations in all 300 top-ranked Arbitron DMAs. Advertisers specify dayparts, demographics, formats, air dates and markets. Auctions take place every Thursday for the following broadcast week.
On June 5, the company announced the launch of the eBay Media Marketplace for Radio, powered by Bid4Spots.
“Advertisers tell us they like our approach of using online tools to make offline advertising affordable and more easily accessible,” says Dave Newmark, Bid4Spots CEO.
Launched in 2005 for terrestrial radio, Bid4Spots also has successfully adapted its reverse auction model for the emerging internet radio sector and is working to launch its marketplace in the U.K.
