Carey The biggest question in daytime television - who will take over the role of host of CBS’s The Price Is Right now that Bob Barker has retired - has been answered: the new host will be Drew Carey.
The announcement ends speculation that Rosie O’Donnell would take over the role, writes ABC News.
The first time Carey was approached about doing the show by his agent, he turned the offer down flat. Later, he said he didn’t realize The Price Is Right is the top-rated show on daytime television, CBS News writes.
Bob Barker helped the show become the longest-running game show in American history. Barker’s advice to Carey: “Go out there and do that show the way you think it should be done. Don’t imitate me and don’t imitate anyone else.”
