New York Gets PPM as Currency Come Christmas

PPM numbers in New York will become currency with the December survey, covering from Nov. 15 through Dec. 12. The survey will be released Dec. 31, writes Radio Ink.

Of the 152 stations in the New York Metro area, 104 have agreed to have their signals encoded to be tracked by the PPM.

As of September 13, Arbitron has met 106 percent of its goal for panelists in the New York metro area. The markets within the metro are also all at better than 100 percent of the goal.

However, the hard-to-reach 18- to 34-year-old demo was indexing at just 61 percent in New York as of August 29; Arbitron executives have said that New York is doing significantly better with the 18-34s than the Philly test was at a similar point. Arbitron has struggled in Philadelphia trying to reach its sample size.
