Clear Channel Announces EAR Award Finalists

Clear Channel Radio today announced the 42 finalists for the 2007 Excellence in Advertising on Radio (EAR) Awards.

The winner for the Best Copywriting category will win a Delta AirElite Fleet Membership for a private chartered jet for winner and 5 guests. Finalists include:

  • “Moving Update” for Miller Lite by Crispin Porter + Bogusky
  • “Waitress Update” for Miller Lite by Crispin Porter + Bogusky
  • “Friendship” for Finnegan’s Ale by Damman Pearce
  • “Maria Cea” for Mount Sinai Medical Center by DeVito Verdi
  • “Don LaFontaine” for GEICO by The Martin Agency
  • “Talk Like You Type” for TypingMaster Pro by Pond Radio Entertainment

The Best Use of Humor category awards a pair of 2007 Mini Cooper S to one of the following finalists:

  • “Toilet” for Axe by BBH
  • “Friendship” for Finnegan’s Ale by Damman Pearce
  • “Fisherman” for Legal Sea Foods by DeVito Verdi
  • “Burt Bacharach” for GEICO by The Martin Agency
  • “Don LaFontaine” for GEICO by The Martin Agency
  • “Talk Like You Type” for TypingMaster Pro by Pond Radio Entertainment
  • “Loud Steven” for Procter and Gamble by Saatchi and Saatchi NY
  • “Teen Girls Phone Conversation” for Smith Micro System by Saatchi and Saatchi NY

Nearly 1,000 entries were received for this year’s competition. The Best of Show winner will be awarded $1 million in Clear Channel Radio advertising.

Winners will be announced at an awards show on November 2, 2007 at the Lincoln Center in New York. Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central’s Colbert Report has signed on as special guest host for the event.
