European broadcasters have formed to create an HD Radio Alliance to help promote the rollout of the technology in Europe.
The first meeting was held earlier this month, during which officers were selected, writes Radio Ink.
“We are excited to see broadcasters in Europe join their colleagues in Brazil and the U.S. in forming their own HD Radio Alliance,” said iBiquity president/CEO Robert Struble. “Europe continues to be at the forefront of international HD Radio deployment, and we look forward to working closely with this group in their efforts to promote HD Radio technology to a wider audience.”
The meeting, in Lucerne, Switzerland, coincided with the second annual HD Radio Days event, which drew 200-plus specialists from 13 countries.
