RDA’s ‘Taste of Home,’ Others to Sell Ads

Reader’s Digest Corporation will begin selling ads in its heartland food titles, beginning with Taste of Home.

The bi-monthly magazine will relaunch with a new design with the December/January issue, according to Mediaweek. Despite a new look, with simplified food images, the magazine will maintain its reader-generated formula that has made it such a success.

The December issue contains a single outside ad, from Wal-Mart. The February/March issue will include Kraft and S.C. Johnson. With ad sales in mind, Taste of Home has set a guaranteed circ. of 3.1 million and has applied for membership in the Audit Bureau of Circulations for Taste of Home and its sister magazines, Light & Tasty (which will be relaunched in the first half of 2008), Simple & Delicious and Cooking for 2.

RDA has undergone several major changes after the company was taken over early this year by private equity group Ripplewood Holdings.
