A study released by Nokia predicts that within five years, a quarter of all entertainment will be created, edited and shared within peer groups, rather than coming out of traditional media groups.
Four emerging trends will make entertainment more collaborative and creative as the world moves toward what Nokia is calling “circular entertainment,” writes MobileCrunch.
Those trends include: Immersive Living, which is the rise of lifestyles which blur the reality of being on- and offline; Geek Culture, the blurring of lines between commercial and creative, as consumers become more hungry to be recognized and rewarded; G Tech, an existing social force in Asia, being called the feminization of technology, that will see entertainment becoming more collaborative, democratic, emotional and customized; and Localism, where consumers will take pride in seeking out the local and home-grown.
Not surprisingly, the Nokia report predicts that much of the entertainment will be created and distributed on mobile phones.
