An advertiser on Don Imus’s radio show is suing the host and his former bosses at CBS Radio for more than $4 million.
The lawsuit, from book publisher Flatsigned Press, claims that Imus insulted the book he was paid to promote, writes Reuters. According to the lawsuit, Imus laughed as he read the script that had been agreed-upon by the publisher and Imus, calling the ad “cheesy” and saying, “… these bastards have been waiting for [author Gerald Ford] to croak so they can unload” the books.
The publisher claims book sales plummeted by about $40,000 a day after the air of Imus’s remarks and that some bookstores refused to stock the book, writes TheCelebrityCafe.com.
