A new report finds that 86 percent of African Americans read magazines, and they read more issues per month than the general market.
The report, African-American/Black Market Profile from the Magazine Publishers of America, found that of the black consumers who read magazines, they tend to read 11 issues, compared to the 8 issues read by the general market, writes Folio.
African American readers recall ads on average 9 percent more than the market average, and took action based on those ads 15 percent more than average.
85 magazines were launched between 2002 and 2006 targeting that demographic.
