Media Monitors, Arbitron Team for Minute-by-Minute Audience Data

Media Monitors is incorporating Arbitron’s PPM data in a move that will correlate audience size and listening patterns to programming on a minute-by-minute basis.

The product, Audience Response, analyzes PPM data and Media Monitors airplay information to help programmers understand what was playing on the air when they observe changes in the audience, according to Media Monitors. Such understanding will help programmers adjust airplay to capture the largest audience.

Audience Response will be focused strictly on programming and not on advertising - at least for now. “…We’re looking at programming features and we’re not going to move forward at this time with advertising measures. We want to see what we can do with programming first,” Philippe Generali, CEO and president of Media Monitors, said during a press conference (via Mediaweek).
