‘Seat Drops’ Reaches Hamptons Travelers

The Michael Alan Group, headquartered in New York, is offering advertisers a program to reach consumers on buses as they head to the Hamptons for some sun and sand.

The campaign, called Seat Drops, allows advertisers to place samples and product literature on the seats of five, 56-passenger buses used by Hampton Jitney, writes Media Life. Staffers can also be hired to talk up the brand to passengers during the trip.

Recent campaigns include a magazine, make-up samples, sunscreen and bottled water in a reusable beach bag, and a bottle of jewelry cleaner along with a brochure from a jewelry company.

Hampton Jitney says the gender ratio is 50-50, with a skew to female on weekends. 88 percent of riders have an income of $100,000 and up.

Lead time is three months for holiday weekends, one to two months for other dates.
