WGA Votes to Ratify Contract

Members of the WGA voted to ratify the new, three-year contract with the television networks and the movie studios.

The contract runs through May 1, 2011, writes Mediaweek. Patric Verrone, president of the WGA West, says the contract is groundbreaking in that it ensures Guild members will be fairly compensated for the content they create for the internet. It also covers the reuse on new media platforms of the work they have done in film since 1971 and in TV since 1977.
