CC’s Mobile Service Puts Advertisers in Customers’ Hands

Clear Channel U.K. announced a mobile service that will allow advertisers to get up close and personal to consumers who are intrigued by their out-of-home messages.

The service, Clear Channel Interact, puts advertisers in the palms of their customers’ hands by allowing consumers to immediately get the skinny on advertisers’ promotions and special offers, according to Mad.co.uk.

Here’s how it works: After seeing an outdoor campaign, people can find out more by texting a trackable code. Texters will receive goodies such as vouchers to be redeemed at a retail location or promo codes to enter online. And by triangulating the texter’s location, Clear Channel can serve up a list of the advertiser’s nearest locations, complete with map and phone number.

According to Clear Channel U.K., 88 percent of the adult population has a mobile phone and 84 percent see a Clear Channel outdoor ad every week.

Clear Channel Outdoor U.K. CEO, Barry Sayer, said, “We see the launch of Clear Channel Interact as the perfect marriage between the world’s oldest and newest media.”

Advertisers can hop on board with any future out-of-home campaign.
