Arbitron is hoping to entice PPM survey participants to carry their meter every waking hour by introducing a personal homepage system that is designed to track reward points. The page, entitled My Meter and Me, is one of a dozen or so initiatives that Arbitron has undertaken to improve PPM sample performance and to increase industry confidence, which has been steadily eroding in recent months.
Sample size challenges have plagued the service. Last week, Arbitron announced that the MRC had failed to grant accreditation to the service in Philly and New York.
The website allows users to graphically review their hour-by-hour carry time over the last seven days, compare personal performance to others in the same household, and share compliance tips with any PPM respondent in any city through an anonymous, moderated web forum, according to the company.
