Circuit City, which spent $190 million on U.S. media in 2007, is losing its svp/CMO.Peter Weedfald spearheaded the retailer’s ‘Simplicity Guaranteed’ ad campaign and oversaw the debut of the chain’s Firedog tech help desk.
His tenure was brief. Weedfald joined the company in 2006 as svp/general merchandise manager for entertainment and content, according to BrandWeek.
His departure comes at a tenuous time for the electronics giant. The company has posted net losses every quarter in the past year and a $12 million net loss for the year ended Feb. 28, 2007.
No successor to Weedfald has been named.
