Airports are an enormously popular space for out-of-home advertising, with new tactics - from interactive boards to out-of-home video networks to advertising in bars and on security bins - becoming available all the time.
The latest in airport advertising is available from Encompass Outdoor, a company that is offering advertising campaigns on the plastic bags used by Hudson News convenience stores and newsstands.
The ads appear on both sides of the bags, and samples can be placed in the bags or delivered directly into the hands of consumers, writes Media Life.
In addition to airports, the program is available in Penn Station and Union Station, Grand Central and the Port Authority terminal in New York.
Markets include New York, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle.
According to Hudson News, its customers are evenly divided between male and femal, have an average income of $103,000, are generally between the ages of 25 and 54, and tend to be college graduates. Lead time is five weeks.
