Clear Channel Case to Stay in Texas

Banks that sought to move a lawsuit filed by Clear Channel Communications from Texas state court to the federal court system were refused by a federal judge Wednesday.

Clear Channel and its proposed buyers, Bain Capital and Thomas H. Lee Partners, filed suit claiming the banks - Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, the Credit Suisse Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, Deutsche Bank and Wachovia - were trying to sink the deal.

The banks, reported the New York Times, sought to move the case out of Bexar County, Texas - Clear Channel’s home base - after a Bexar County judge issued a temporary restraining order against the banks when the lawsuit was filed last week.
