New Study: YouTube Ads Match TV in Effectiveness

Google claims that ads in YouTube videos perform as well as their TV brethren.

A study commissioned by Google that sought to measure the effectiveness of :30 ads in YouTube videos and television programming found that ads in YouTube content generated the same amount of engagement and intent to purchase as those running on television. Additionally, the Harris Interactive-conducted study, reported TV Week, suggested that online ads are better at “communicating the brand” than those on TV because the audience has better accurate brand recall for interactive spots.
